About

Michael Hunter -34.jpg

Erin grew up in the suburbs of Dallas-Fort Worth, and was strongly influenced by her mother's collection of fine antiques and her father's affinity for wood-working and furniture design. From an early age, she was taken on buying trips to flea markets and antiques fairs, and knew the difference between a dovetail and a mortise-and-tenon joint by the age of 6. Her style has developed from this background, and can be described as refined yet comfortable, with a collected, layered, and lived-in look.

After law school, Erin made her home in Austin and (naturally) fell in love with the character and charm of its many historical neighborhoods, such as Old Enfield, Pemberton Heights, Bryker Woods, Tarrytown, and Rosedale. After renovating several historical homes in these charming neighborhoods, she quickly realized she had a calling for interior design and started her own firm, Erin Brooke Design.  Erin has a true appreciation for older homes, and a passion for introducing modern-day comforts while preserving the historical nature and character of the home.

DESIGN STYLE AND PHILOSOPHY

Classical beauty always has a place in everyday life. Erin believes in filling a home with items the family loves and that have a history; after all, a home is a reflection of the family that lives in it.  The remaining aesthetic of the home builds upon this concept.  Often displayed in her designs is a mix of classic and traditional design principles, always tempered with something modern and often an "element of surprise."  And of course, a thoughtful and dynamic use of texture and color is incorporated throughout the design.

Beautifully designed spaces are about people, and how they live.
